1845 – Death of John Caesar Hawkins

The poor of the parish of Elton were mourning the sad loss of John Caesar Hawkins who died 8th Janury.

He was a gentle and generous man, who whilst he lived at Elton devoted his time to acts of charity and benevolence for the poor of the area.
