Font

The font in St. Lawrence church has an 15th century octagonal bowl with moulded base, whilst the stem is much earlier, probably 12th century

Memorials

Thomas Jay 1792

Underneath are deposited the remains of Thomas Jay of Derndale in this Parish; Gent. who died July 10th 1792 aged 44. Underneath are deposited the remains of John the son of Thomas and Joanna Jay who died Feb. 25th 1798 aged 15. Underneath are deposited the remains of Joanna, relict of Thos. Jay, who died March 6th 1799 in the 56th year of her age. Also his great grandson Thomas Edward Jay of Derndale is buried in this churchyard…born at Lyde April 10th 1871, died at Derndale April 9th 1948 and his wife Gertrude Anne, born Dec. 13th 1873 died Feb. 20th 1947

Thomas Jay 1831

Beneath here are deposited the remains of Thomas Jay of Derndale who died 8th July 1831 aged 28 years. Also of his son Thomas Jay of Derndale who died at Painswick July 1859 aged 29. The remains of his wife, Mary who died 24th June 1873 aged 70 are buried in this churchyard. And those of his daughter, Mary Jay of Derndale, who died March 1907, aged 80, are buried at Cheltenham

Major Herbert Geoffrey Lush-Wilson

To the proud and loving memory of Major Herbert Geoffrey Lush-Wilson R.H.A of Pyon House, Canon Pyon, who commanded Y Battery R.H.A. for the last 4 months in Gallipoli 29th Division. Received the Chevalier Legion of Honour, afterwards commanded the Y Battery in France and was killed instantaneously 24th July 1916 near Mailly Maillet, aged 33. The only son of his Honour Judge Lush-Wilson K.C. and the late Rose Frances Lush-Wilson
