St. Bartholomew undertook a rebuild in the early 14th century, with the original church being early 13th century.

The font of St. Bartholomew is dated 13th century, so was from the original church.

Memorials

Inside the church is a fascinating coat of arms, which are those of 15th century Plantagenet monarchs with the Royal Arms carved back to front – it is believed that Margaret of Anjou (Henry VIs queen) had them made after the House of York was declared to be traitorous .
