The medieval church of St. Beuno & St. Peter was perhaps built on the site of a pagan site that became a small monastery founded by St. Beuno in around 600 AD. The exact site of the monastery is uncertain, but as excavations at nearby Olchon Court have revealed possible foundations of a monastic building, then maybe this was where it was and not under the church at all.
